What is Evolutionary Astrology? How is it different? How is it applied?

Five Saturdays, beginning July 9, 9:00Am – 11:00AM PST
Instructor: Barbara Millios

The first course in this seminar series will focus on understanding the techniques of Evolutionary Astrology as founded by Jeffrey Wolf Green, along with its links to the spiritual astrology of the past. By the end of Part 1, students will have acquired a cohesive understanding of the main principles of Evolutionary Astrology, how it relates to chart interpretation and how to apply the Pluto Paradigm as taught by Jeffrey Wolf Green.

Are planets better behaved in some signs than others? In an opposition, what planet is most likely to win the tug of war? Are mutual receptions always nice? The key to answer these questions and many more is understanding dignities and debilities.

5 weeks on Saturday, beginning July 10, 2016
Time: 9:00-11:00 AM PDT

The traditional astrology tool of dignity and debility, with the system of five essential dignities, can be a powerful and nuanced way to add detail to chart interpretation. It has been pretty much lost in modern astrology.

The goal of this class is to show how you can reclaim more of the power and subtlety of this tool.

Five top astrologers dissect the politically exploding "Taboo Trifecta” of Race, Religion and Sex – barely repressed since the Civil War but again erupting as America approaches the November 8, 2016 Presidential elections.

From 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM PDT

"To read what was never written..." learn the role of astrology in Walter Benjamin's philosophy.

This August 6th - a two-hour workshop
from 9:00 - 11:00 AM

Known more for his theories on history and the status of art in the age of mechanical reproduction, German philosopher Water Benjamin (1892–1940) also wrote about astrology. This workshop examines the overlooked role that astrology plays in his body of work.

First we begin with establishing the context of astrology in Germany during the Weimar Republic, a period of severe turmoil in German history. Then we explore Benjamin’s writings on astrology. Along the way, we will cover topics such as allegory, the history and culture of early modern Europe, graphology (the art of interpreting handwriting), and optical technologies such as photography, cinema, and the newly invented planetarium.

Steven Forrest has another perspective on Evolutionary Astrology that complements the methods developed by Jeffrey Wolf Green.

Five Saturdays, beginning September 10, 9:00Am – 11:00AM PST
Instructors: Barbara Millios

This is the second course in a series that explores the modern iterations of Evolutionary Astrology as a methodology within mainstream astrology. This course focuses on the variation developed by Steven Forrest. Along the way, students will also see how Steven's approach fits into the history of astrology (particularly in the last 150 years).
