How much should you give? We know times are tough. But even if you could pledge $10 per month - you could make a difference!
Gifts of Cash
The most common way for individuals to make gifts to Kepler College is with a gift of cash. Kepler College is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so your gifts of cash are 100% deductible for federal income tax purposes.
But suppose you are worried that your gift won't make a difference? Here's one easy tried and true way to multiply your contribution - invite your friends to help! For years, sororities have raised money for worthy causes by having a party - and then everyone kicks $5 or $10 into a donation basket. Then your $5 or $10 really adds up!
Did you know that a few hundred dollars in our scholarship fund might make the difference in whether a student could enroll for a term during our troubled times?

Why Give?
Every dollar you donate to Kepler College ensures that we can continue to challenge critics:
- who believe that the study of how cultures worldwide have actively interpreted and made connections between the cosmos and human endeavors (philosophies and practices now predominently lumped under the term "astrology") has no value
- who believe that 4000 years of a worldwide multi-cultural phenomena is not worthy of serious study
- who believe that a knowledge of astrology’s history, symbolism, philosophy and practice and use has nothing to offer to someone who wants to know about the roots of Western science and culture
- who believe that the same separation of matter and soul which has resulted in our current economic and ecological crisis can also get us out of the mess that this separation has created
- who believe that there is no practical application for knowing the living astrological tradition of India and much of Asia, one of the world’s major economic markets
Kepler College was born out of a grass-roots effort to bring a respectful examination of astrological history, philosophy and practice. Prior to Kepler College opening its doors in 2000, individuals interested in an academic exploration of astrology had difficulties finding resources. Just the fact that Kepler College existed as an academic institution for 10 years made a difference. More and more colleges are willing to finally consider the value of astrology throughout history without the automatic response that it is simply superstitious nonsense. Even though it can no longer accept new students to its degree program, Kepler College intends to continue to push the boundaries of astrological education. The Board, faculty, administration and students are all actively exploring alternative educational options to continue our mission.
Your support, and additional support from individuals, corporations and foundations, enables the Kepler College to provide ongoing, high-quality education to meet the needs of its students and anyone interested in the subject of astrology.

Appreciated Securities
Any gift of appreciated securities, including mutual funds, which you have owned for at least one year can be donated to Kepler College without incurring capital gains tax. The deduction is the fair market value of the stock on the day you make the gift. Such gifts are fully deductible up to 30% of your adjusted gross income; any excess can be carried over for five additional years.
Bequests
Another planned gift opportunity is naming Kepler College in your will or living trust. Contributing to the College through a bequest is a wonderful way to support our programs and services while, at the same time, reducing your estate taxes.
Life Insurance
By naming Kepler College as owner and irrevocable beneficiary, you can contribute an existing or newly purchased life insurance policy and receive a tax deduction for a portion of your gift. Additional deductions can be taken by making gifts to cover the cost of premiums. Alternatively, you may wish to name Kepler College as a contingent beneficiary, to receive the proceeds if the primary beneficiary predeceases you. If proceeds come to the College, your estate will receive an estate tax deduction for the gift.
Getting The Most From Your Retirement Plan
If you are required to withdraw more than you need from your retirement plan this year, you may wish to give the excess amount to the Kepler College. By doing so you will be entitled to a tax deduction, which will partially offset the tax you owe on the withdrawal.
