Shortly before our academic program ended in 2012, Kepler took the core of the astrological program and re-visioned it into a program where students could earn individual certificates as they explored different subject areas in depth. But we also wanted to provide a full program that covered a broader range of astrological studies. The diploma program requires 12 courses plus 2 chart calculation labs. The program is not easy and takes at least 3 years of study. Maki took on that challenge. Along the way she earned a certificate in the Fundamentals of Natal Astrology, Moving the Chart in Time and The Astrology of Relationship. She had to work twice as hard as most of our students as English is her second language. Her teachers all agree that she is well deserving of the honor of being our first Diploma Graduate!

I've been learning astrology and reading horoscopes for clients for few years before I entered into Kepler College. But the main reason that drove me to study at Kepler was because I couldn’t feel satisfied with my knowledge, skill and performance in counseling with clients. I felt conflict often about what the proper attitude and behavior I should hold as a practicing astrologer. I questioned myself often about “did I really help my clients to understand their real problem and potential, or did I just led them to have blind faith in Astrology?”,” How are western astrologers doing their work?”…etc. For these questions, I decided to study at Kepler from beginning, and now I can say my decision has been ever so correct!

Either W112 or W113 may be taken to complete the certificate for Moving the Chart in Time. In addition, W112 may be taken as an elective for the certificate diploma; Pre-requisite: W110 (and preferably W111) or Challenge
You may have worked with transits, progressions, directions or other methods of moving the chart in time, but still find it difficult to synthesize all the different factors or choose the right tool to answer a specific question, this course will help.
Students will receive guided practice in learning how to analyze the chart, select an appropriate method for the issue at hand, identify key factors, help your clients understand life events and potentials for action and growth.

This course builds on the work done in E510 and E511. By the end of the course, students will not only understand how to implement the principles and techniques of Symmetrical Astrology, but be able to evaluate, select and apply specific principles as needed to help a client or answer a question with regard to chart interpretation, moving the chart in time and space, and forecasting.
Requirements: This is an advanced-level course. Students need a strong grounding in basic astrological symbolism and natal interpretation, and the principles of Symmetrical Astrology and its applied use in interpretation. E511 or equivalent required.

Imagine a way to access the details of your life-script (your karma). You could gain understanding of your life purpose, know when to seize opportunity, and have the foreknowledge to remediate difficult circumstances. This is the tradition of Jyotish, the astrology of India. This courses gives you tools to make use of the concepts and practices of Indian astrology, including how it can play a healing role in our lives, and how it can be an adjunct to your Western Astrological work.
The course will be hands-on with multiple example charts. Your astrological analytic skills will be strengthened through the use of the charts of ordinary people.

By the end of the term you will learn:

  • The rules for evaluating a planet’s aptitude and temperament, and how it will play out in the life.
  • To make sense of the often contradictory indications shown in the chart.
  • How the Varga (Divisional charts) provide additional insight on a specific topic.
  • The timing method of Dashas which determines when a planet will deliver on its promise.
  • Additional methods, including Indian transit principles, yogas (special planetary combinations), and the fascinating history of this unbroken astrological tradition.

Your client's chart may show relationship issues, but is the guy she just met last weekend a prince or a frog? And what if your cousin's birth time is uncertain - he still has questions! This course will give you the depth and experience to answer all of these questions - and many more!

Horary astrology is a part of one of the oldest branches of divination: that of asking questions. Normally, when we use the word horary, we refer specifically to the particular sets of rules for interpreting an astrological chart drawn for the moment of asking a question, a type of astrology also known under the Sanskrit name prashna. However, let us not forget that the urge of humans to obtain answers to important questions by divining, or asking the gods, is much older. Horary astrology in a sense is merely a technology for reading that divine answer, like the I Ching, or Tarot.

In Shang Dynasty China, the king would ask questions frequently, often involving the question of what sacrifice the gods wanted. In ancient Babylonia, all manner of omens – really, any deviation from business as usual, whether unusual birth, unusual weather, or unusual bird formations, as an opportunity to divine the message from the gods. As astrology gradually gained primacy as a method for reading the heavens, and hence the place of the gods, so it later became a preferred means of similarly reading the gods’ messages.

We all ask questions. Some of these questions are more important than others. What makes a question important? It's not how much money is on the line, or whether you really need to move. It's whether you care more about knowing the answer than about what the answer is. Suppose you're driving to work, and thinking about that new person you interviewed yesterday. You could be thinking, "I wonder if Jane would be good for the job." Or you could be very impressed with Jane, and convinced that she could really help you with that next big project, so you say, "Will my company hire Jane?" The first is not a horary question, while the second one may be. A horary question is one in which the person asking the question really wants to know the answer. It is this serious interest which allows a horary astrologer to interpret the moment when the question is asked. Casual curiosity is not enough.

There are correspondences between the physical body and the astrological chart. From ancient times to the Renaissance, medical doctors used these correspondences to help them in their practice. 

The purpose to this course is not to engage in medical practice as understood legally. But these traditional tools can help the astrologer  offer specialized services to their clients, mainly concerning the timing and circumstances of medical care provided by licensed practitioners.

Students will continue to build their astrological interpretation skills as they examine issues related to families, including the parental axis, siblings, extended families and generational characteristics. Students will also explore temperament, astrology’s lost key. The primary goal of this course is to promote better understanding, application and usage of basic consultation and communication skills with regard to questions about family relationships..

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, the students will be able to:

  • have a reasonable understanding of the history and development of theories regarding temperament
  • be able to identify varying temperaments applicable to children and indicated in their cosmological charts
  • have a clear understanding of ethical considerations which may complicate discussions of third party charts
  • understand Greenbaum's method of identifying the pure temperaments and mixed temperaments and hypothesize about their possible application to the natal chart and to family chart comparisons
  • recognize and apply the basic methods for identifying parent-child, sibling, and extended family relationships in the natal chart
  • Recognize the existence of parenting themes and family characteristics reflected in the natal chart
  • Recognize and identify basic psychological issues likely among family members

Astrology can provide a great deal of insight into the basic dynamics of love and marriage. This course will cover techniques, including comparisons and composites. Psychological principles, psychological issues and ethical concerns and considerations will also be examined. The primary goal is to promote better understanding, application and usage of basic consultation and communication skills with regard to questions about relationships.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, the students will be able to:

1. identify primary categories of human relationships.

2. locate relationships in specific houses of a cosmological chart .

3. identify at least two issues involved in validating cosmological information.

4. identify personal filters or critical thinking obstacles which could interfere with clear understanding and interpretation of astrological data.

5. locate and evaluate the astrological representations of individual attitudes towards love, sex and life responsibilities, attraction to others, potential for making commitments and for enduring relationships.

6. identify, compare and contrast the various methods of chart comparison.

7. identify, compare and contrast the various methods of using composite charts.

8. identify special charts used in relationship analysis such as first meeting chart, marriage election chart, draconic natal and composite, heliocentric and sidereal natal

• Students will explore and use methods of identifying potentials in relationship, employment, and money via the natal chart.
• Students will understand the principal ethical issues connected with astrological sessions.
Students in this highly interactive 10-week course will meet live on a regular basis to work on delineation. They will also have a course website for further materials and discussion.
