The instructors in the Kepler educational program are known for their astrological knowledge and ability to teach in a challenging online program.

Nalbandian, Laura

Nalbandian LauraLaura Nalbandian is a 2nd-generation astrologer, practicing and teaching astrology since 1986. She is the co-owner/coordinator of NORWAC – The Northwest Astrological Conference, established in 1984. Her family owns Astrology Et Al Bookstore. She founded and coordinated ROMAC03 (Rocky Mountain Astrology Conference); served in various positions for UAC 2002, 2008 and 2012, and presented at NORWAC, ISAR, EA, UAC, NCGR, and The River of Stars Conferences. Laura was one of the original founding board members of Kepler College, and is a Past Vice-President and President of the Washington State Astrological Association, and is currently serving as the WSAA Treasurer. Laura has lectured throughout the United States. In addition, she has been on radio and internet radio.

Newberg, Enid

Enid NewbergEnid Newberg earned a BA from the Evergreen State College and an MA from Antioch University in Whole Systems Design. An astrologer since 1973, she first joined Kepler College as a board member in 1993, and was president when the college first opened in 2000 through the end of 2001. In November 2004, she rejoined Kepler College as the Registrar and Director of Student Services. Enid also has an extensive background in information systems and online learning. In July 2006, she was re-appointed President of Kepler College.

Petty, Kate

Petty Kate 150Kate Petty's lifelong love for astrology has led her to practice a number of different systems including Symmetrical (Uranian), Hellenistic, Early Medieval, Indian, and Visual astrology. Her most recent focus combines Symmetrical and Traditional techniques, keeping an eye on mundane physical realities. Through her website she publishes a list of monthly antiscia and articles on current events, and provides one-to-one online mentorship. She's a former President/Vice-President of the Washington State Astrological Association. Scofield, Bruce

scofield.jpgBruce Scofield, PhD University of Massachusetts; MS History of Science, Montclair University; BA, History, Rutgers University. Mr. Scofield has been a practicing astrologer since 1975 and has been a teacher and lecturer at many regional and national conferences over the last twenty years. He has written many articles for various astrological publications and has published a number of important astrological texts, including Timing of Events: Electional Astrology; The Aztec Circle of Destiny; Native American Astrology from Ancient Mexico, and Signs of Time: An Introduction to Mesoamerican Astrology. Mr. Scofield recently received his PhD from the University of Massachusetts where he works on Gaia theory and solar system influences on climate and life. His PhD thesis examined temperature variations in the northern hemisphere correlated with Saturn-Sun geocentric alignments. Bruce is a faculty member at both Kepler College and the University of Massachusetts.

Stathis, Georgia

stathis2Georgia Stathis, BS Communications, Northwestern University; MBA, Pepperdine University. An astrologer since 1978, Georgia has extensive business and communications experience having worked in the real estate and investments markets as well as in the public relations field. She is a respected international lecturer on such topics as Cycles and Symbols, Business Trends and their Corresponding Mythical Archetypes, Economic Astrology and Stock and Commodity Market Cycles. She is the author of numerous articles on these subjects for various professional journals and magazines, and co-authored Financial Astrology for the 1990's, Civilization Under Attack. She is the publisher and author of the Starcycles Calendar Series as well as the Starcycles Audio Cassette Learning Series.

Sullivan, Erin

sullivan erinErin Sullivan’s 45 years as an astrologer has brought her international recognition. Her 6 books are classics, and are read worldwide in several languages, and on the reading list of major schools around the world. Erin's consulting practice is global, integrating all aspects of contemporary astrology. She has an online Training Course. She was Series Editor for Arkana, CAS, London, UK, and published some of the best minds in our field. Background in cosmology, archetypal astrology, and classics feeds her astrological philosophy. Surtees, Kelly

Surtees KellyKelly Surtees is a writer, astrologer, teacher and editor who works with clients, and students around the world. Proudly described as an ‘astro nerd’ by her Leo sister, she loves sharing astrology. Kelly’s passion for cycles work is infectious, and her specialty areas include progressions and incorporating historical concepts and techniques. Kelly holds the FAA Practitioner’s Diploma and is an expat Aussie who lives in Canada most of the year.

Tebbs, Carol

tebbs_carolCarol A. Tebbs, MA.Carol Tebbs attended Whittier College earning both BA and MA degrees in English, and shortly after, an MEd in Education. She was President of Kepler College from 2003-2006. Her 38 years of teaching Advanced Placement English to students receiving university credits is combined with her extensive Leadership Team experience in a large urban school district. As three time Accreditation Team Leader, Technology Grant Author, District Writing Program Coordinator, and District Mentor Teacher charged with training new teachers, Ms. Tebbs' experience and knowledge of the many facets of higher education complement her recent work with the College Board as a "writing assessment reader" and AP teacher trainer. Recognized as 1999 Wal-Mart "Teacher of the Year", and 2000 District Teacher of the Year, Ms. Tebbs is annually noted in Who's Who in Education and Who's Who in the World. Ms. Tebbs recently published The Complete Book of Chart Rectification. Ms. Tebbs is also well recognized in the astrological community for over 30 years of community service as: 3 terms ISAR President and 22 years on the Board; UAC Co-founder, Board member, Board Chair and UAC '95 Coordinator. Her E-books published in 2003 include: Beyond Basics: Moving the Chart in Time and Beyond Basics: Tools for the Consulting Astrologer.

Kepler Instructors are chosen for their expertise in academic and astrological knowledge and for their ability to effectively teach what they know to others in an online environment.

They must be able to produce quality instructional materials that enhance learning by using multiple strategies and approaches. They need to understand how to work with students remotely, and to develop the trust and respect of their students and colleagues.

They also need to stay up-to-date on new developments and examine the interplay of the new and old. And they must be willing acknowledge their own biases so they can present their students with multiple perspectives.
